2019 HLMC "Civil WAOR" - Washington vs. Oregon

Interclub Ryder Cup - Rules & Info

Format: Regular season matches will be played on one designated Saturday each month, May-August, with playoff matches in September. May and July will feature four-ball matches (2-player best-ball), while individual matches will be played in June and August. September matches will be played using an alternate-shot format, played in 8somes (each player only required to pay ½ green fees). All competition will be net match play. Team rosters will designate players as being either an A, B or C player, based on handicap index. Players may only match against opponents within 1 category of their own (e.g. B could play an A or C, but an A cannot play a C). Tee rules will follow standard Saturday play rules. Rule 3-5 used as needed.

Round Signups: At the beginning of each month, those who want to participate in that month's Saturday matches must inform the Tournament Chairman (please email BJ). Captains will be responsible for setting match opponents. Competitors will be emailed their match opponent and should communicate with each other to set a time/date to play.

Match Points: Every hole in each regular season match will be worth 1 point (halved = 1/2 point). A match win earns a bonus 3 points. Points for playoff matches will be doubled. Even if a match is closed out (for insance, 5 & 4), points can sill be earned over the remaining holes. This will both incentivize playing out the round plus lessen the chance of a tie in final season points. The team with the most combined points following the September playoffs wins. In the event of a tie in total points, immediately following the last day of play, one individual from each team will play sudden death playoff holes until a winner is determined.

Prizes: Each player from the winning team will be awarded a to-be-determined minimum prize. The remaining winnings will be awarded on the basis of match points won for a player’s team during the competition.

Note: Everyone playing on a “WAOR” Saturday is eligible for the day’s individual game, including those participating in the optional tournament. Tournament participants should keep in mind that taking an “X” during a round would disqualify them from the day’s individual game, so they must play out every hole to also be eligible for the day's $10 game.
